Committee Positions held: - Editor (1987 to 1994) and President (1990 to 1995, 1999 to present).

Bikes, Current, past & best bike: - Started on a XL250, as I lived in an area of unmade roads. After 100,000 kms of commuting traded it on a SR500, which didn’t survive Ash Wednesday. Then a GSX400 great little bike but 2-up was unsuitable for Club rides! So then a GT750, XJ900, GSX750, RF900, CBR919, CBR929 and CBR1000. Also a TT350 for some fun in the dirt.

The best bike: - although the modern ones do it so easily I’ve enjoyed all my bikes as at the time of ownership they all had the ‘wow’ factor and would bring a smile to my face.

I love being part of the MSR because: - I enjoy riding with and being surrounded by like minded individuals who are serious about their motorcycling but can still have a good laugh about life.

Best rides, trip, destination etc: - I have fond memories of the annual weekend run to Cooma and the Snowy Mountains in the mid 1980’s, a real blast that would take a week to recover from! More recently the bi-annual trips to Tasmania are not to be missed.

Crashes:- Have had the ‘usual’ oops over the years exploring the limits of my ability but in 1997 I had a coming together with an errant motorist that saw many months in rehab and nearly 1 year off work.

Other diversions: - home renovations, Family and vintage vehicles. Currently have an unrestored 1929 Fiat tourer and a 1922 Excelsior Big X motorcycle. My restored 1929 Fiat sedan didn’t survive Ash Wednesday. Also enjoy spending time with my family (3 grown-up daughters) and grandchildren.

Occupation:- Production Engineer, have spent the last 30 years working at Lockwood Locks, prior to that at Nissan Motor Company and Repco Limited.
